Check-In: What Do You Need to Do to BeCome HER?

Preview

We are moving into August — the second month of the third quarter of this year.

So let me ask you something honestly, sis: Are you becoming the woman you said you wanted to become? Or are you still waiting for the “right time” to begin?

“Put off your old self… be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”

Ephesians 4:22–24, ESV

During my recent ReClaim HER: BeComing HER From the Inside Out Power Hour, we talked about how becoming requires more than setting goals. Sometimes it requires releasing the version of ourselves that learned how to survive but never learned how to live freely.

What You Survived With Cannot Carry You Forward

Some of us are stuck because we are still holding on to behaviors, beliefs, and patterns that once protected us:

  • People-pleasing

  • Overthinking

  • Procrastinating

  • Staying silent

  • Seeking permission

  • Neglecting ourselves while caring for everyone else

  • Believing we must have everything figured out before we take the next step

Those behaviors may have helped you survive a previous season. But they cannot lead you into the woman God is calling you to become.

BeComing HER Requires You to Unlearn and Replace

People-pleasing→ Healthy boundaries

Fear→ Faithful action

Negative self-talk→ Truth

Perfection→ Progress

Procrastination→ One intentional step

Self-neglect→ Care that is necessary, not selfish

You do not have to change everything today. But you do need to stop pretending that staying stuck is keeping you safe.

August can be more than another month on the calendar. It can be the month you decide to release what no longer serves you, renew your mind, and respond to the woman God is calling forward.

Hear This Before You Read Another Word

You are not too old.

You have not missed your opportunity.

You are not too broken.

And you do not need anyone’s permission to begin again.

There is still time left in this year. But transformation does not happen because time passes. It happens when you make a decision and support that decision with intentional action.

Your Check-In

So, HER — what do you need to release, unlearn, and replace to become the woman you know you are called to be?

Sit with that. Write it down. Name one thing in each column, and then name the one step you will take this week to support it.

Do not spend the rest of this year rehearsing the same patterns. Your next chapter requires a different response from you.

It is time to BeCome HER — from the inside out.
